Night and Light
Light Painting- f/3.5, 3.2, my house, 10pm, 11/09/10,canon rebel
Moving the camera- f/2.2, 3.2, 9pm, 11/09/10, my house, canon rebel
Moving light- f/1.8, 3.2, 11/09/10, 9:30pm, my house canon rebel
To draw the star, I used my iphone light and a slow shutter speed. The red light is from moving my camera really fast while having it aimed at the little red light on my space heater. The green light is from moving the green light on a baby monitor in circles in front of the camera.
Cutouts
Partial cut out- f/8, 1/20, 10/1/10, BYUI Gardens, 6pm Canon rebel
Cutout- f/2.2, 1/125, 11/06/10, My house, 3:30pm, Canon Rebel
The cutout was hard to do and I did not have luck with any tool other than the lasso tool. I think my jar was harder to cut out because it already had so many shadows on the image. In the partial cut out, I removed all the pine trees.

Large Prints
Katie 9/30/10, 5pm, Rexburg, f/4.5, 1/320, canon rebel.
The edits include raising the blacks, fill light, sats, adding pixels to the top and bottom and a skin blur on her face. I chose this picture, because I really liked the way her red hat contrasted with the green background. She is also making a cute face. This pic was taken right around her 6 month mark so it's a good one to print.
Conference Center: 10/23/10 2pm, Temple Square f/5.6, 1/1250, canon rebel. I used an adjustment brush to bring the sky back in, also pumped up the sats and vibrance, used a brush effect, raised blacks, brought down yellows, and used fill light. I took this standing at the reflection pool in SLC. I liked the reflection a lot and the colors. The editing took a while trying to get the colors saturated and bright enough.

Original Template from Brainhoney
MY take on the template:
I had fun with the template. I love digital scrap booking, and this reminded me of it. I used a pre-made template and arranged it to how I liked it from there, mostly because I started having a hard time with the transform on the images. When trying to transform them smaller or bigger the image would sometimes freak out and do a 180 flip or just move to the complete opposite side of the screen into the gray area. It was frustrating but I finished it!
Photolusion
Picture 1:
The Scriptures: f/1.8, 1/125, 11/1/10, 7:00pm, My house in Rexburg, Canon rebel
Picture 2:
The Church: f/7.1, 1/8000, 11/1/10, 11:25pm, Rexburg Church, Canon Rebel
My photolusion:
I made a few photolusions before deciding on this one. I decided on this one mostly because it was more subtle than the other images I created.

Edge Effects
Conference Center-brushed on effect f/5.6, 1/125, SLC conference center and reflection pool, 10/23/10, 12:30pm, canon rebel
Church- f/7.1, 1/1000, SLC church on Temple square, 10/23/10, 12:10pm, Canon rebel, burned border
Spray effect- Temple Square- f/7.1, 1/250, 10/23.10, 11:55 pm,SLC Temple Square, Canon Rebel
Can you guess where I went this weekend? Temple square! I used this trip to get some new pictures, which I did successfully. My favorite here is the conference center pic, where you can see the reflection in the reflection pool. I upped the sats and vibrance on that pic which gave it a really painted, artsy, color.
Scanography
Hands and Feet
Collage Pics:

This is Halloween
Both of these scans were done at 300 ppi with the scanner I have at home. The first scan, I used my daughter Katie and put her on top of the scanner. She is with me all the time , even when I am doing homework, so many of my ideas include her. It was hard trying to hold her still, and you can see she moved her hand during the scan.
The second scan I did because I am so excited for Halloween, I decided to make a Halloween collage with stuff I had around the house. I have a really cool idea for a scan, but I have to wait till I have the supplies.
