Editing Post

I always have fun trying out the new weekly edits. I'm not super creative but I do what I can. Below is a picture of a dried up weed growing in front of a shed I found. I liked the shed background so I took the shot.

Filter-Patchwork
Before After
Dead Weed- 9/26/10-Rexburg-7:16pm-1/200-f/4.0-Canon Rebel30D-Patchwork smart object filter and then I made the front weed that was in focus stand above the patchwork filter by using the paintbrush. I also brightened up the pic a bit.

Adjustment Layers
-
Katers- Rexburg-9/24/10-4:10pm-f/3.2-1/125-Canon Rebel 30d- adjustment layer black and white. Then I used the black paint brush to keep only the mirror image in color.

Flora and Fauna

Flora and Fauna pictures are not very easy to take for me. I just naturally don't pay nature a lot of attention...It took me a whole day of thinking about what to photograph before I remembered I own a pug that qualifies as an animal.
The lady bug picture is hard to see but I did the best I could with it. My lens wouldn't let me get any closer. The flower I captured outside a church building, and I liked the brick background. The pug, named fatty, is my dog and despite him looking restful in the picture, it was actually super hard to get him to sit still.

I love the color yellow because it's so bright and uplifting. I tried hard to find interesting things that were yellow and not in nature, but I still took 2 nature pictures. I just couldn't resist the yellow leaves, and the yellow flowers made for a good small aperture shot.

Old Photos

I am a fan of portrait photography. I just love to capture the moments between family and friends. During this class I hope to explore different types of photography with nature and animals, but people will always be my passion. Below are my top 10 recent pictures.

Grampy and baby go exploring-no edits
This picture was taken in my dad's backyard in NH. He has an old apple tree which has a perfect circle through it's center.

The Big Green- cropped and raised exposure.
This is a giant caterpillar my dad caught eating his tomato plants. I like this picture because of how dirty his hands are, it shows he found the worm while working on the garden.

I'll show you around - raised exposure
